Pretty cool device

Pretty cool device!. The first one we got had a pretty big difference between "ambient" temperature and "probe" temperature - with the sensor right next to the display. FOUR degrees, although this thing should be certified. So we returned it (thanks Revain) and got another one. This shows a difference of 0.3 or 0.4 degrees between the environment and the probe. Maybe it's a coincidence, but it gives you peace of mind that this thing is reading accurately. On another level - this thing is incredibly handy! When we didn't have him (between the time we sent the bad one back and got the good one) it's amazing how much you miss this guy! Okay, that's just the outside temperature, but of course it's nice to know what it is. (We just hung the probe outside through the window, and it seemed to work fine even with the window slamming the wire shut.) Aside from being useful, which isn't negligible, this thing is just plain fun!

Pros
  • Measures temperatures from -50 to 70 degrees C (-58 to 158 degrees F) with an accuracy of + or - 1 degree C
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
