Based on previous reviews stating this product was either partially broken or fully intact I decided to order the mugs and a to take risks. . Luckily I can say that each of the six items is in my kitchen, packaged securely - no breakage, no chips, no cracks and perfectly glazed - and presented in a charming gift box. Thankfully, these mugs are shinier and more festive than pictured. The white dots are more than decorative: they are slightly raised, giving a pleasant sensation to those who like to caress the outside while at the same time covering the palm with warm liquid. My youngest daughter excitedly asked for a light blue mug. For a good reason: the red mug goes perfectly with the nail polish I wear a lot and is so cute on my hand (yes, I'm laughing while typing). The darker shade is a beautiful aubergine color that is difficult to see in a product photo. We didn't really need more, but my family was recently crippled by a horrible cold, which caused our many cups to rotate in the tea and dishwasher. This set will be a welcome addition to our cupboard and tables (dishwashers work too). **UPDATE TWO YEARS LATER: COLOR WRINKLE We still love the look of these mugs. They continue to serve as brilliant, cheerful additions to our homes and kitchens. None cracked or broke. However, my favorite red mug has crumpled polka dots leaving what I can only describe as a crease of color that feels very disappointing. They're supposed to be dishwasher safe, so I have no idea how or why the color just warps and ends up as a dot on just one of these feel-good products. Very sad.
