So here is my experience. Communication worked reliably through walls and the like. I recently read on a tech site that previous issues have been fixed, but it's difficult to find every pair in a stack that had connection issues, so thought I'd give it a try. The gasket they make is amazing at first because it creates suction (you get used to it and learn how to put it on and take it off) so the soundproofing is really good. They sound good with no distortion at high volumes. There's actually an extra set of earbuds in the box that appear to be the same size but are *actually* larger than the pre-installed pair. The battery life surprised me. If anything changes later I will update to let anyone interested know
