God, how has our six year old's morning toilet visit changed? It used to take 20 minutes to brush his teeth (because he was grimacing in front of the mirror instead!) but we've put it next to the sink and it really helps keep him on track. He even takes great pride in installing it himself. There is no annoying ticking and the call only lasts a few seconds. We've also used it in the kitchen/living room and it's easy to read from a distance. Now a couple of points. Other reviewers have mentioned the delicate touch required to move the disc, and I agree - if someone handles this thing roughly it will snap easily, but it's not so brittle that I feel it should would break under normal use. It's also an opportunity to practice fine motor skills and respect tools when the user is at the right developmental stage for it. In general I'd say use your judgment as to whether it's within range. Unlike the smaller version, this watch doesn't have a cover or protection for the dial - keep the box if you plan on moving it, as the red dial is very easy to hang on anything. Overall I'm a big fan of these products and I love the size of this timer.
