I've been experimenting with detergents for the last few years. I have tried several handmade laundry detergents from different online stores. My late mother was a STRONG believer in Tide and never tried anything else in her life. However, today's tide is NOT the same as my late mother's. Unfortunately, Tide's recipe has changed a lot, as has the smell and its ability to fight stains! I thought maybe this new 10x power could change my laundry. Unfortunately I see no difference at all! I was hoping for a detergent that would remove common household stains without having to treat the stains before washing. I started using white borax, which is very effective on most stains, but I had to switch back to chlorine bleach to fight mold and mildew. I live in a very humid area of Texas and mold can show up unexpectedly, especially on white cotton. In an attempt to lead a more sustainable lifestyle, I bought cotton dishes and cleaning cloths to use in place of paper towels. I'll admit I still use a few paper towels, but I've reduced my usage to a quarter. Either way, stains are inevitable when using these 100% white gauze towels. I use them for every task and some have gotten ugly stains, especially due to my love for Italian food! The Tide 10x power supplies didn't even touch those spots. I always use a soak and an extra rinse with everything I wash. So the new 10x power supplies are not very impressive. They're a lot bigger than regular pods, but it looks like Tide and P&G just upped the size of their 4-in-1 pods and called them 10x Power Pods! They lost a lot of business because of all the chemicals in their products. , their formula changes and the awful smells they put into their products! I purposely left out my fragrance enhancer to enjoy the smell of my beautiful bathroom towels.,,,, what a huge disappointment! In fact, they smelled so bad that I had to wash them in another detergent!
