As others have pointed out, these are actually Bluetooth headphones without batteries. This means they are wired and need to be connected to your phone to work, but then the sound is sent to your phone via Bluetooth. This has some very strange side effects with a "worst of both worlds" score: - When you first connect them to your phone, they won't work unless you have Bluetooth turned on and accept the prompt to connect them to your phone to pair the phone. - If they are connected to one device and you connect them to a second device, the listener will hear the audio from the FIRST device until they are paired to the second device again. - You don't need to charge them, as they're powered by your Lightning Connector phone, but you also get lower quality Bluetooth audio instead of the higher quality of a wired connection - adding to the disadvantages of a cable. Not a very good compromise. As others have noted, the sound quality is even worse than expected, with frequent noise and poor reliability.
