Review on Golf Swing Impact Bag by Intech by Seth Damain

Worth the money, not just as a punching bag.

I'm new to golf - ok not really new but my first round put me off 30 years until recently. Basically, and the reason escapes me, I agreed to play my girlfriend's dad at prom the morning after prom. This caused me several problems. #1 I got pretty unstable at prom and when I got back to my prom house after a big event, I threw up in her downstairs bathroom. #2 I was severely dehydrated the next morning which isn't a problem when you play in the US because they have a drink truck - but I played in Ireland and we never got a message about the drink trucks. #3 I was absolutely terrible at the game - it was actually my first time playing. Burned a deep-seated vow never to gamble again. Fast forward 30 years and I work for a development company on one of our projects, we're building a massive golf hotel, so my boss signed me up for golf lessons. This is where I saw and used the impact sack for the first time. My trainer lets me use it in almost every class. At first he got me to use it by simply holding the bag, rocking it and releasing it to show me how the rocking is different from what I was trying to do and putting too much effort into the movement. A few weeks later he let me use the bag as a punching bag and being able to measure where my hands were at the point of impact made a huge difference. Before using the bag all I knew was that it was out of place every time, but without a bag or similar mechanism it's really difficult to develop proper hitting habits. Adding a punching bag to my workout has been the biggest change for the better in my journey. What I'm learning about golf is that it's an intense game of fundamentals. I have 3 months of lessons and I watch people on the driving range who just want to see the ball the long way and give up the tedious effort of paying attention to the basics. To make your journey faster and more productive, grab that hit bag, add some towels or other fabric, and start showing noticeable improvements by committing to 15 minutes a day for the next month or two - you won't regret it :)
