I got this for my 5mp system as it's still compatible and these cameras have some real advantages over the newer 5mp cameras. First, they hit 30 fps compared to the new ones that only do 20 fps. During the day it doesn't matter, but at night it makes a big difference. Second, this camera is MUCH better in low light compared to 5MP cameras. I can turn off the night vision and just turn on the ambient light and I get a nice, sharp color image. On newer 5MP cameras, when I turn off night vision with the ambient lights on, the image goes almost completely black.
