I usually use cold press when it comes to watercolours, but I need hot press paper for some of the smaller jobs I want to do. in a set with two tablets. I say that because the package arrived in a puddle and luckily the plastic wrap kept the pallets from damage even though the box was crumbly. BINDING The binding is foldable so you can conveniently pull it straight onto the pillow if you like. QUALITY The paper is very nice. I like the surface and the texture of the paper lends itself well to drawing. WHAT I USE IT FOR since gouache was listed as good for this paper on the cover of this notebook, I will try there. I found the performance very good. I like how the gouache laid smooth but had some fine grain that settled to some depth. LIFT I was able to remove some of the gouache from the paper but it was smudges. HOW MANY LEAVES? There are 12 sheets in the notebook. The 24 they refer to in each notebook assumes you use both sides of each sheet of paper. CONCLUSION I really like this set of two notebooks. The paper is of high quality, the performance has been satisfactory for me so far and I am satisfied with it. MY RATES ARE FIVE STARS.
