I bought this sturdy collar for an active beagle/beagle mix. That was before I read of situations where other owners of this type of collar had emergencies where the collar needed to be removed quickly. Good luck with it. My dog struggles through thick bushes and branches and gets tangled easily. She even had the hard ring holding her identification tags ripped off and gone just to show how much pulling and strangling is possible. Attempting to remove this collar when the dog is already choking is unrealistic as you will have to pull harder to loosen it. Slip-on collars are easy to remove in almost any situation. This particular collar is well made and durable until broken, although not very reflective. Again, my beef is about the style of the collar, not the quality of that particular one.
