The cord isn't quite long enough to go where I wanted, but overall it's still good. As for durability, I don't know. One thing is for sure, if you don't mount the connector where the mic plugs into the cable, it won't hold. It is not meant to be dragged or dragged. I think the pin end that you plug the mic into is meant to be plugged into a panel or held in place in some way. UPDATE: As you can see from the free photos, this works well. The mounting bracket can be used above or below the radio and will hold the zip end of this small cord in place. I wish it was an inch or three longer, but now it won't pull. The radio is a Galaxy DX 959 and I have had good reviews of the radio while using it. I attach the radio to the dash with Velcro, which works surprisingly well, and I have cardboard on top of the bracket for the sun visor. I remove the sun visor to install the microphone jack and photos. Overall I'm satisfied, the lifespan is still unknown, I'm just starting to use it about 3 months after purchase.
