Fairly easy to use, programming cables can be tricky, there are many fakes out there and not all chips have drivers for the latest Windows OS and the case design means you may need it to cut the plastic of the data cable to fully insert it into the radio. I was able to get this working with CHIRP with a nice gable and the programming is fine. The radios work well, they seem to have all the performance advertised, the only real complaint is the charging station. The hole is larger than the base of the radio, you need to install the radio into the charger by pressing it against the contacts while sliding home, it takes two hands and is too difficult. and possibly missing accessories such as spare 12V or extended life batteries. Due to the design of the case, wireless accessories aren't interchangeable with other Baofeng devices, and while this is the more stylish and potentially weatherproof design, it's the rarer of the two and has less accessory support.
