Five stars because considering the price it's pretty good. It delivers a sharp image with accurate colors. Just like a regular optical microscope the depth of field is very shallow so you really need a stand and the one that comes with it will be totally useless I haven't seen a clear statement from the manufacturer but I'm pretty sure the image 640x480 is. You will see real information. The website has VERY clear installation instructions for the three programs they are giving away for free. I was really impressed with it. Customer service is the BEST I've ever had. confronted. I had trouble installing the microscope on my very old Dell Precision M6600 laptop but the customer support emails were numerous and helpful. The microscope works consistently well on my wife's laptop, but not yet on mine. Zooming is done by changing the focal length. So while zooming you have to move the camera to keep it sharp. This is where the stand comes into play. If you write a review, you will receive a coaster for free. This is that review.
