Review on Sanitaire Tradition SC684G: Powerful Upright Commercial Vacuum for Efficient Cleaning by Guerdon Draper

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Sounds like a bear at 79dBA, but the suction power is amazing.

Although I always boasted about having a vacuum for every room, I had quite a few more on the market. I needed something lightweight and also needed one to replace my Miele which is a very powerful vacuum cleaner. This Sanitaire will replace Miele, which is great but has small and rather expensive pockets. This sanitaire has no bags to buy, but a so-called "shake out" bag. Some of the first commercial vacuums had this feature and to me they will be economical in the long run. My downstairs living room is the perfect candidate for Sanitaire. I have a dog that sheds so much hair I swear I can knit a sweater out of fur. The other dog, although tiny, puts a lot of dirt on his coat. My Miele and Electrolux Silverado and great vacuums but too big for me to carry around. The Sanitaire isn't light, but I can stick it in a corner instead of tipping it over like a Miele. In the end, the Silverado broke down and is waiting in the closet to be repaired. Assembly was quick and easy as all I had to do was connect the handle to the vacuum cleaner body, connect the two cord holders and attach the bag. Sanitaire was up and running within minutes. We were all surprised by the roar that came out of the vacuum. It sounded like a roaring bear at 79dBA but cleaned like crazy. The suction power was incredible and I doubt there will be any dirt left on this carpet. I adjusted the handle for a pile of oriental rugs I wanted to vacuum. Sanitaire is not intended for home use, but for commercial use. I really like the suction power of this vacuum cleaner and I can easily see why it's commercial. It was easy to squeeze and I felt the power of the motor. The 18-liter shaker bag picks up a lot of dirt, and this 50-foot cord lets you vacuum a large number of carpets without having to constantly plug and unplug it. The 50ft cord is very strong and should be plugged into a grounded outlet, preferably with GFCI protection, which is what I used. This Sanitaire vacuum cleaner has a lot of power. I checked the manufacturer's website and found that the company is owned by Bissell. I have a couple of Bissell machines including their carpet washers and I am quite happy with them. This vacuum cleaner is quite noisy and if that bothers you, just put on your hearing protection or take a walkthrough. The price is pretty competitive and a lot cheaper than anything else in the Dyson range. Not that trendy but I don't need a fashion statement in my living room. I just need something fully functional that sucks up this dirt. I am very happy with the overall performance of the Sanitaire and would highly recommend it for homes with heavy carpeting and of course commercial use.
