In general the light is excellent. They're roughly equivalent to a 450-watt Fresnel in chess. The brightness stays constant as you adjust the color temperature, which seems pretty accurate compared to my tungsten filament bulbs and fluorescent flashes. The assembly is rock hard. The radio system is comfortable and reliable, although I had some problems with the remote control. It doesn't always seem to have a solid connection to the battery. My biggest complaint is what I knew before I ordered them. They don't come with curtains. If so, they would be the perfect light for a portable interview/low budget shooting kit. I would happily pay a premium if the manufacturer offers barn doors as a separate item. It would be absolutely worth it. I took them to try them out on a video shoot and had to spend extra time setting up stalls and flags so the lights wouldn't be on properly and I wanted to do what could have been done in seconds if the barn doors were available would have been . . Okay, one last note, but a small one. The tote bags are zero fill. I accidentally had some foam sheets laying around so I just cut some out and glued them into the case as there was enough room for them. It would be nice if they were soft or at least with a foam insert. But overall I really like them, they are great value for money and that's why I plan on keeping them and using them often. If you don't have a $500 per lamp budget and don't need barn doors, I highly recommend these lamps.
