This is a great solution when you need to easily replace an exhaust pipe section without having to remove multiple pipe sections to connect to the flare. I used it to replace a rusty resonator on a 2012 F250. A standard 3 inch piece of hose goes to the back of the muffler and then to this connection in front. The connection is really strong and very close despite some reports to the contrary. I am 100% satisfied. Hell, if I later want to take the pieces apart and make a Flare connection I can, but due to the price and ease of use of this butt clamp I'm happy to leave it in place as long as it lasts. Imagine that it will soon fail.
