I just used this for a rewiring project in my house. First, the plug-in portion of this kit is excellent. The LCD screen is good for the most part - I had a few small areas that didn't light up properly, indicating a quality control issue. There are also some error messages for wiring issues that are not defined at all in the guide. For example, I had this at one of my stores where an error was reported and the description of the error in the instructions was not clear. I did a google search to make sure I didn't understand something and nothing came up. So that's the problem. A non-conductive pin tester is also fine. I've managed to get it to work reliably on mains powered devices, but I could literally plug it into a live outlet and get nothing, so that's not the best either. The design is nice, works intuitively and has a small built-in flashlight. In any case, I really appreciate the socket tester and its features, but poor instructions limit usability, as there are error messages that are not explained and are therefore not helpful at all.
