Plenty of room for a versatile swamp/refuge setup!

I've always been the "buy a size up” guy when it comes to filtration. This sump is currently connected to my 90 gallon reef tank. In this I have room for a 6" Reef Octopus Needle Wheel Skimmer - up to 150 gallons in the protein skimmer section and a Mag Drive Supreme 950 GPH pump in the return section. The water level lines that run on the sump are not accurate, if you need to lift the skimmer (like I did) but it's also very easy to work with, I wish the filter socks were easier to remove (in my case they are sometimes very difficult to remove because I need to put a length of PVC pipe in the drain wall AFTER / WHILE I reinstall the filter sock (after I've flushed it) I have an extended PVC pipe that runs from the bulkhead into the water so the sump doesn't look so bad when in service makes a lot of splashing noise. To keep things "in the family" I bought an Eshopps PF-1200 spill box - up to 300 gallons for this pallet and everything connects really well. In terms of durability, it is very s nicely constructed and packaged very securely, all seams are taped very well and i have never had a leak in the last 6 months since i installed the good pan other than filter sock frame design and BH zg water coming out of the factory set drain. If you don't mind cutting off a few pieces of PVC to clog the drain, this palette is for you.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • boring packaging
