I overhauled my network last year with brand new ASUS AI mesh hardware. I have a router/access point (ASUS RT-AC68U) and two remote access points using an Ethernet backhaul. My modem and router are in our living room. I have the modem in a built in closet and the router/access point on a shelf above the closet, hidden as best as possible by hiding it in a corner with a framed picture hiding it. It also meant that my network cables were routed from the closet to the router and hidden behind some sort of paneling. I never liked this setup as you could still see the router and the antennas were crammed in one corner. I installed this antenna and now my router is tucked away in the closet next to the modem and this antenna is at the top center. a shelf shaded by a large framed picture. The antennas no longer hit the drywall/frame in the corner, allowing the signal to travel more freely (I haven't checked the signal levels, but I don't tend to because with 3 nearby Wi-Fi hotspots I have a good one have cover). my house). When connected to this access point, I still get a strong signal in several rooms. It works great on both 2.4 and 5G. I would have preferred white to better fit our interior, but that wasn't an obstacle. I am very satisfied for the price. Seems well done.
