I needed something that could be worn as a base layer or as a sole layer when hiking in 30F to 45F weather. Wanted something bright to wear on the trail here during hunting season (October - December). Ideal for this purpose. The day started out at 27F under cloudy skies. It worked very well as a base layer under a middle fleece. Not too hot (I run a little hotter than most) and definitely not too cold. By late morning the temperature had risen to 45F and the sun was shining. This worked great as a sole layer since the backpack contained fleece.
