I like that this coat is warm but not bulky. I got this for my son. My guess is that a boy's size large is a 12. My only complaint is that there is no clear sizing chart for this coat/jacket either here or on the company website. This makes it difficult to choose the right size, since a large child's size will differ from the brand. There is also no size chart, which would also be very handy. The coat itself is well made. I like that it's three in one. Basically you have a winter coat that is warm but not bulky, a fleece jacket and a raincoat. The details are easy to understand. My son thinks it's great that the hood can be rolled up into a collar. The hood has a visor in front to protect your face from rain or snow. The hood fits snugly on the hood and does not dangle. There are no laces to tighten it. The outer/rain cover has 2 zippered pockets to put your hands in. They are roomy enough for gloves. Inside there is a net and a label to print the child's name. The cuffs are elastic. The zipper can be pulled up to the neck/chin and has a zipper at the top. The fleece is very soft. It is attached to the outer jacket. The cuffs are fastened with buttons. The sleeves are slightly smaller than the top jacket. In general the quality is excellent. This is a jacket/coat that will last 'til you grow.
