Bought to connect HP Reverb G2 headset via USB-C port and after 4 months of use it works perfectly. The other ports were also fast enough for data transfers and great for charging devices. This card was easy to install, worked out of the box with Win10 and required no configuration. Completely plug and play. The card connects directly to the power supply to improve performance and reduce the load on the motherboard. But as others have said you need an open SATA connector coming from the PSU or if you don't have one you can use the splitter that came with the card. However, in this case you may need another SATA power cable to run between your SATA drives and the card if they are more than 7" apart "if the cable goes through" (spacing of splitter legs).
