Good Little Case

This is a great little project case if your project uses DIN rail devices or circuit breakers. extends beyond the visible window and allows for the installation of end anchors, low profile fuses or terminal blocks in this "enclosed" area. I used this for ground anchors and a fuse block before replacing the MCB with a device that protected the fuse when I found I had enough room. , for terminal blocks, as there are none here. Note that using the side piping holes will add clutter to this extra area. After I installed the hardware, my oversized grounding clamps barely fit. The passage height is sufficient. The plastic on the "shoulders" is thin, so that even devices with high "shoulders" still fit into the case. The front offers an aesthetically pleasing look and is comparatively flush for things like gauges and controls. The MCB buttons MAY stick out high enough. touching the access door if it is triggered when the door is closed. However, all circuit breakers disconnect the mechanism from the handle when tripped, so this is in no way a safety hazard - it's only a minor inconvenience as a tripped handle can open the door. I have tried two different brands of MCBs and neither makes contact with the door when it is "on" or "off". The "chutes" are comparatively narrow, but even my largest controller was able to fit in with just a little plugging of wires. Using top or bottom perforations will penetrate this area as expected, but this is less of a problem than side perforations as the only thing this area is good for is cabling. The knockout holes are a bit impractical. They're definitely tough. In fact, I would consider them TOO hard. It can be difficult to knock out exactly the desired number of blanks in the main front window without removing too many or simply detaching them. The knockout holes for the lines are pretty annoying. I didn't have much trouble prying out the 1/2" hole, but widening it to 3/4" was significantly less fun. The main seals hold up well. The access door does not have the most reliable sealing pressure. It will withstand splashes and dust, but I'm not sure how harsh conditions it will withstand before leaking. To be fair, this case isn't advertised for outdoor use. You can also use sealed cable ducts or cable glands in the cutouts to add an extra layer of waterproofing and dustproofing to the case. I used 3/4" Arlington fittings. The body includes two 1/2" fittings, but they have no gaskets.
