Compact, powerful, durable

Since they arrived I have been very careful with my panels due to conflicting reports of very poor power supply (both initially and worse over time). I suspected that people reporting a drop in output power over time might be excessively bending and flexing their panels and damaging them over time. I've been using my panels for a few weeks now and so far my experience has been very pleasant! I've also tried not to bend or bend them, and tried not to lean them against anything (especially at a sharp angle). So I just put them on the roof of my van. I was very satisfied with the performance development. I tried it on different days under different conditions: Noon, light clouds: 128W-149W at 16-17V, 8-9A. (See screenshot images for example at 146.2W and partly cloudy sky) - Early morning, bright sun: 90W @ 18V, 5A - Morning, heavy cloud: 40 - 65W @ 16 - 17V, 2.5 - 3.5A - Summer evening, overcast, tree light: 20 - 40W @ 16-17V output 1-2.5AC, I was shocked. I've seen it go up to 160W and never expected there to be more than 75% power (150W). So I was happy with that. And I'm also surprised that I drew about 3A even with fairly heavy clouds. Since I plan to mainly use my laptop and phones (and maybe a small fridge), even that 3A is enough for me if I run the panels all day. Dashboard. I'd like to try exposing just one panel in hopes that it will fit on my dash with no shadows. 2 unknowns: I don't know how much my windshield blocks light, and I don't know if 1 panel can pull 1/4 of its full power potential. From what I understand the panels are connected in parallel, which is great as they essentially work independently or additively. (If they were connected in series, that would mean that the panel with the lowest power would be the maximum power possible for each panel.) However, in practice I think I'm getting less than 1/4 the power from a single panel . Blackboard. I think a full panel covers so much ground that at least 1 panel is more likely to get good light. However, the smaller footprint of a small panel uses only 1/4 the energy when hitting it in full sun. In other words, I suspect that in full sun, a panel pulls 1/4 out of 4 panels. But in any cloud, having all 4 panels present actually helps maximize performance. I have a LiFePo4 battery, so the included charger doesn't work. However, I'm glad to have this crappy little charger in case I want to take the panels to the beach to provide USB power, or to power my car battery in an emergency. It would be nice if I could lean against a wall or the side of my car with these panels. I'm just too nervous about damaging them by bending them. I'm thinking of making something out of old tent poles but haven't come up with a project exciting enough to build one yet. just lying on the grass. They still seem to be working fine. So I'm glad the panels are strong enough to withstand a 7 foot drop onto grass. I also need an easy solution to keep them tied because I don't want a $200 kite. In terms of quality, I'm very happy with the fabric itself, the quality of the handles, etc. The small metal rings seem quite flimsy, but I can work with that. And some of the stitching came undone leaving a few hanging threads. Again, I can fix it and deal with it. Overall I'm more than happy with the power delivery with a few disappointing features. There is nothing else that compares in this price range and I can't even find another panel with this kind of performance.
