Review on Vixen Horns VXO8330 Tank Compressor by Matthew Baltimore

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Compressor failed after 3 weeks

This kit was originally purchased for a car that was involved in an accident shortly after arrival. Compressor and tank kit in original packaging until last month when I installed them on my new car. The fuse started blowing yesterday. After a month of use the hot wire coming out of the compressor is now grounded for some reason. And those are the numbers, I have 3 weeks of a 1 year warranty from date of purchase. I read the reviews but despite the negative comments decided to take a chance. I have emailed Vixen and will update the information as it becomes available. I sincerely hope that they can show some leniency to my circumstances as only 3 weeks remain until the end of the warranty. If not, I will not buy another Vixen compressor. I will use another brand. Don't do what I did, if you buy this compressor kit, install and use it right away. If you're going to blow it up, make sure it happens before a year's up. Update, the compressor ejected the rod and is stuck. This is after 3 weeks of moderate use (only beeps). The system held air with a loss of only about 5 psi for 24 hours without use. Not overloaded, just a poor quality compressor. It's not worth betting if you'll be one of the lucky few to get a compressor that doesn't explode. Read reviews and decide for yourself
