Squeaks instead of explosions

Never buy this junk. Two full blasts of a horn and it went from a deep 320 Hz horn to the high-pitched squeak of a dog toy bitten to death. I tried to call Volo for several days but they never answered. Luckily I bought it from Revain and was able to return it for a refund.

WARNING: 20Amp FUSE REQUIRED

The horn sounds good but I can't connect it to my factory wiring as it requires a special 20Amp fuse. I tested 2 of my other cars and it doesn't work for the same reason. It comes with a 30A relay if you want to poke holes in firewalls and dashboards to install an extra button to activate. The description leads you to believe this is plug n play. Damn.

Good sound when installed correctly

Judging by the reviews this is a great horn when installed correctly. You need 20 amps to run this. Most horn circuits are not rated for 20 amps. So if you just replace the original horn, the fuse will blow. Came with a 30 amp relay. I used a relay even though my Ram 2500 has a 20 amp horn circuit. With about $30 of cords and connectors, I hooked up the horn. It's really loud and like the sound. Definitely much louder than the original. Time will tell if this continues. If it expires soon I…

I was totally disappointed. I felt like I was being taken for a fool.

This product is advertised as being very loud and helps you to be seen and heard in a variety of situations. Well after installation it was plugged in and when I pressed the horn button I was actually ashamed that this horn sounded like a sick duck with cancerous vocal cords. The volume level was less than a third of the "standard factory horn". Now I feel like I'm stuck with a "piece of dead meat," I can't even see it's worth the time and effort to get it back. I feel like the only thing worth

Don't order spares

I threw away the bones and ordered one of these and when it got here and I tested it before installing I was less than impressed and actually quite upset. It didn't sound like a video and it was very quiet. Realizing something was wrong with it I asked Revain for a replacement and when it arrived it was slightly better but still not what I expected. I played with it a bit, loosening and evenly tightening all the screws around the diaphragm, and the sound sounded better, but still not great. It…

I gave him a chance.

Read the reviews before buying this horn. I read them after ordering and before receiving the goods so I was really hoping I would get lucky and this is not such a bad product. Well it turns out I'm not that lucky. I tested the horn before fully installing it and it had a low tone but not loud at all. Certainly not 2 times louder than the original car horn. However, most car horns are 2 times louder than this one. So I was keen to send it back. Before doing this I decided to try this on my car…

Just. Don't worry about that.

I bought these in January to replace the original horns on my old GMC van. I wish I could keep them. My first impression after plugging in the horn was that it sounded like a truck horn, but not very loud when the hood was closed (aimed at the exit under the left bumper). Low frequencies sound very weak when there is no power behind them. As a musician I know that. I wish I had thought about that before I bought this. Yes, it has a barrel that looks like air horns. but without the power of the…

Definitely attention grabbing but not for the volume

After about a week of use I've decided to change my rating from 3 stars to 1 star. I've put the original review in quotes below. Even after applying direct battery power to the horn with a fuse and relay, the horn still has serious problems. When it gets hot (as is usually the case in the engine compartment), the horn no longer "buzzes" but whistles. Looks like a goose with laryngitis. I even tried to get it as far from the engine and radiator into the engine bay as possible with minimal…

Powerful installation sound in a small space

After reading lower star reviews and complaints of low sound and not loud enough, I felt the need to weigh everything. I bought 2 of these speakers, one for my wife and one for me. I bought the first one for my wife as a Christmas present for her Murano as the factory horn wasn't very loud. I hooked it up along with the factory horns (to keep the sound when the remote is used to lock and unlock the car). All 3 horns (2 Factory and Vol) work together without any problems. All I had to do was…
