VERY LOUD pull horn noise

My aftermarket electric horn only lasted 6 months so I decided to use this with the original cord. Took me about 30 minutes and when my 7 year old honked the horn on the steering wheel he got really scared. Even my wife said her ears hurt (she was 30 feet from the truck). I can buy another set to connect the wires on the left. Horn usage and lifespan information will be updated.

Pros
  • Hands free operation
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other picks

Funny Little Jeep Wrangler JK Upgrade

Funny Jeep Wrangler JK Upgrade. Damn loud. Lower tone than electric horns. Difficult to install, had to replace the 10 amp fuse with a 20 amp one, but so far so good. There's a slight delay in the hum because it takes a split second for the compressor to kick in, but it's quicker than I expected. Mine is mounted to the frame cross member under the radiator with extension leads attached to the stock horn wires. I recommend tilting the horn down a bit so it doesn't draw water.

It could work properly if it didn't have to be assembled outside!

Horn installed easily, sounded good. Then I really had to use it. The first few times no problem. The weather started to get colder and suddenly the sound started changing to a low screeching. I tried a few more times with no traffic and that was it! Died. .I could still hear the compressor struggling to make a sound and then it gave up! I consider the horn to be one of the most important parts of a car's safety system. I have nothing now. I kept the original horns so I think they will come…

Don't waste money!

First of all, this horn is NOT easy to install! I took mine to a GOOD car stereo installer and it took 2.5 hours to install! This horn is loud but it lasted the full 15 minutes / 3 beeps. Beep after installation. I honked my horn in the parking lot. On the way I honked again, dammit. 10 minutes after I drove home, some idiot interrupted me, so I "tried" to honk: nothing. radio silence. But what can I expect for $27? This horn is loud and I would write a much more positive review if it lasted…

All the negative reviews installed it wrong?

I used a 50Amp engine start button mainly because I want someone to push it when they break in and have a pleasant surprise and warn me. I used 10 gauge wire connected to a 20 amp switch, routed through a grommet into the cab and ran 10 gauge wire to the horn and used a waterproof shrink sleeve. I also used a 10 gauge ground wire which I grounded to the frame. I believe that using a cheap cable that is too small will result in underperformance. I replaced the fasteners with stainless steel and…

WOW it's loud louder than expected

I'm not the least bit disappointed with this horn, I understand there are a lot louder horns out there but for $28 this is probably the best horn for the money I've been tired of people not being able to hear me in my corvette c4 after seeing the stock horn in the grilleless bumper put this baddie under the car and wow this scares people you definitely can get me out of one Quarter mile or maybe even more listening! I definitely recommend 12 gauge wire and a 30+ amp single setting relay to get…

Really loud and 100% worth (less than a week owned)

Damn, that's loud. I love it. For the price it's worth it now you have to plug it in but it will scare the morons of the folks who unplugged me. I would not recommend it to people who have little or no confidence in electrical wiring as it is not plug and play. If you're hiding this in the engine bay you'll need to find a nice long area for it. The front brace can be removed if desired, and the structure looks chrome, holds up well, and doesn't feel like it's coming loose. You must protect the…

Very LOUD but needs a better pump as mentioned in my review.

This thing is LOUD! The only problem is that the small pump that comes with it doesn't push enough. At $25 I can't complain much. I bought a Wolo 8088-C and discarded the pump that came with it. Note that you will need a 30 amp air horn relay if you want to use the standard steering wheel horn button. If you then sound the stock horn, that 12 volt can trigger the relay on its 2 pins, allowing more current through the direct battery wire to power the pump. You should be easy on the hands and…

Great for the price!

Pretty easy to install. I've seen many reviews saying to replace the fuse with a larger horn or use a relay to power the compressor. I put it on a 12 f150 and used the existing horn circuitry. It's not the loudest beep, but it's not entirely true. And best of all: IT SOUNDS LIKE A HORN! Unlike some of the more expensive tankless horns I've tried. It has some disadvantages. Installation is not for beginners. You must have practical knowledge of vehicle electrics and light installation. The only…
