These shoes were a real breakthrough for me. I have a second pair as I sadly left my first pair on an alpine lake in the outback. I walked 10 miles before finding out but immediately bought another pair when I got home. I use them in the summer for fishing, swimming, tubing etc. Basically anywhere you get wet and need a shoe to stay in. I hate sandals because I easily lose them in a flowing river and they don't have much profile. These boots have great tread as I navigate streams and rivers in PNW. They're comfortable enough for short hikes, but I usually wear my trail runners and carry them around. The style is decent enough that you don't look like a complete madman in civilization, which is a plus. Fits great!
