I have recessed sockets in the floor (unusual) and the standard plugs fall out leaving my stuff without power or charging! I used this in my kids area as we have a lot of these that get tucked into this room and I want to keep them in a place out of the kids reach. I love USB ports! I use them to connect my baby monitor, my white noise wearable, and my iPhone. I also have a baby swing and an Apple TV that plugs into standard outlets. The cord is made from a nice thick braided fabric so it looks better than plastic cords. All in all it's exactly what we needed and so far it's working as expected! I personally wouldn't use it for travel as it's quite bulky. If I had stopped at the BNB and checked the bag I might have brought it, but if I had only carry-on I wouldn't have taken it!
