Review on πŸ‘€ 23.8-Inch Acer K242HYL Bid Monitor: 1920X1080P, 60Hz, Wide Screen, IPS Technology for Optimal Viewing by George Ward

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Very good high contrast HD screen image with somewhat rough edges, base and overall appearance.

If this monitor were to step back in time just a year or two, it would be an incredible achievement and value. Full HD (1920 x 1080) monitor at such a great price. In fact, the picture on the screen is very good. I used my MacBook Pro to connect it via HDMI and was amazed to see a level of brightness that at least matched my laptop. The nearly 24-inch size is a welcome step up if you're used to looking at a 13-inch or 15-inch screen. Response time is also a very respectable 4ms, suitable for gaming on a budget with a 100,000,000 x 1 contrast ratio. I would be full of praise if I hadn't seen HP's 25 inch monitor recently. This offering is approximately 1/4 inch thick overall, except for the bottom which houses the power supply and innards. and the design is really elegant and beautiful. In contrast, this Acer frame feels thick and chunky. The base is round, shiny, and smaller, making it prone to rocking. rude instead of connecting immediately like HP. Surprisingly, Acer seems designed more as a desktop replacement than a laptop companion, as it doesn't come with HDMI like HP. If you want to use it with a laptop, you should be ready to buy an extra HDMI cable. The frame is made of glossy square plastic and while not large, it's still a bit unwieldy. Imagine Soviet-era design compared to Applesque. To be fair, HP (I'm not related to HP) is more expensive. So if budget is your main concern then this might be the best choice. As already mentioned, the image quality is really very good. But if design is important to you, look carefully at the photos and compare them. You should be very happy with the performance and use at this great price point, especially since it was on sale at the time of this review.
