This wrap was sold to me by my vet for use on my horse's leg. The good thing is that you can reuse the envelope 3 times. Simply air dry then dampen again to activate the tone. There is a thin sheet of plastic on the side of the bandage, but it leaves marks on the animal's leg. Having had to put compresses on my horse's leg for several months, I looked for another option. Bigelow compresses. They are single use but come in packs of 8 per box and leave no residue. Both wraps seem to warm my horse's leg equally. The Bigelow foil stays in place more easily while I wrap the gauze roll over it, while the Animal text becomes slick due to some of the clay side interacting with this thin plastic film. For my toe ankles, I need all the help I can get to wrap my horse's leg, which is why I prefer Bigeloil.
