We used these to replace the stalk tilt mechanism on our high profile wooden Levelor Venetian Blinds that are over 20 years old. After watching a few videos on how to order the correct mechanism, how to remove the blinds from a window and how to replace the mechanism, it was pretty easy. The stumbling block for me wasn't the replacement of the unit but the clumsiness and heaviness of working with the double width blinds themselves. Make sure the blinds are up before removing them from the window bracket! My husband managed this fairly easily, but I had to enlist my daughter's help to help me remove and then attach the other one. We had to enlarge the hole on the hook below to accommodate the hole for the stick. Be careful with the ends of the blind manifold - they're pretty sharp after you remove the subframe caps. We quite gouged the footboard when we changed the position of the bedside blinds. Huge time and money savings as you don't have to buy and install two new sets of blinds!
