Recently my 30" Apple Cinema Display broke after about ten years and I had to replace it with a 30" HP display that didn't have the required DVI-D Dual was equipped connecting cable. As an IT pro, I have boxes and boxes of cables, many of which are DVI-D, but none of them support dual-link, and the Apple Cinema Display has a built-in cable, so it can't be ported over to a new monitor. This cable helped although I didn't want to buy it thinking I could save up another DVI-D cable, but it wasn't expensive and it was a good quality, durable cable.
