I am very sad. This is a prime example of a product designed by people who don't use it. When riding a motorcycle, you must not allow yourself to be distracted. Looking at the DVR screen is the last thing you want to do. So of course I installed a DVR with a screen under the seat. I want to "set and forget" but still be able to start/stop recording on the fly. I bought this product because it has a wired remote control. I can put a screen under my seat and have a completely discreet setup, but still have a discreet remote control to control the recording and stop it whenever I want, right? Wrong!You cannot start/stop recording with the remote control. This is pure madness. What were they thinking? You can activate/deactivate the microphone (why?!), you can take a picture (but only if a video recording is active! why?) and you can lock but also unlock the current recording. Remote control. Did you just lock or unlock the entry? You can't know without looking at the screen. Has the microphone been muted or activated? The same, you can't tell. And who cares if the mic goes out on a motorcycle? For me, this completely ruins the product. Modification would be so easy for the maker: - Replace the stupid mic on/off button with record on/off (long press 3 seconds to stop, long press 3 seconds to start) - Make the video lock button just one Lock button and done Don't let remote control video unlock. You never want to unblock videos! Or press the button for at least 5 seconds to unlock the video and press once to lock it. So you can be sure to block the video if you wish. - Make photo capture workable when no video is recorded until the manufacturer makes these simple changes (it could be a setting in a new firmware). I really advise people not to buy this product. Unless you want to look at the tiny icons on the screen to see what you're doing with the remote. That's so sad
