I'm not sure about the waterproof part because I never used it that way, but it was definitely a good accessory for my vacation. It was small and discreet but protected my valuables. It was also convenient as I didn't have to carry my wallet/bag around with me. I always had room for my phone, money, passport and room key. It's small but perfect for what I need it for. I would recommend this product, just note that it is small, suitable for mobile phones and a few small things. It also fits the body well, is not bulky, and is barely noticeable in a fitted tank top. The top of the tank can cover this if necessary for safety reasons. Also used it to go to the club. It was nice to have a place to store my things nicely without having to store or carry them around. It was always in my trash and sometimes I forgot I had it.
