Used them for about a month. Installed on a folding bike on Friday where I have to remove the pedals for transport. Now you can release the pedals very quickly. As other reviews have noted, even when wearing Altra running shoes, which have a durable outsole pattern for uneven surfaces, they are slightly slippery, but not slippery enough to be a problem for most cyclists. The good thing is that they won't scratch your feet when the pedals hit them. I might try adding/coloring the sticky surface. Not theft proof, but I suspect most thieves won't figure out what a quick grab is unless they learn quickly or are familiar with it. They're also useless if you don't have a part that screws into the crank. I also never leave my bike unattended for more than a few minutes. Build quality and durability appear to be very good. It would be great if the pedal axle was interchangeable with another brand so I could use a different pedal platform, but not sure if this hack would work.
