Variations on this type of shower head are used in several mid-range hotel chains, which is where I first encountered them. With a flow rate of 2.5 GPM they produce a nice and wide stream unlike many shower heads. Personally, I hate those multi-function showerheads that have multiple settings, including a pulsed "massage". Who needs this crap? I don't shower for a massage, I shower to clean myself and this shower head is nothing fancy but it gets to the point. Since they have no moving parts, they don't break. And they look good too. Who could ask for more? ******** Update 2/15/2017: ******* I bought this product again a few days ago and installed and used it yesterday. What was once a high-quality piece of metal is now basically a large piece of chrome or coated plastic. On the plus side, the now green flow restrictor is fairly easy to remove with a small needle tip or similar pliers. The function is still good. If you don't look too closely you won't notice much of a difference other than an increase in gloss and the fact that the surface the water is coming from is now chrome instead of earth tone. On the negative side, paying close to $50 for what is actually a cheap piece of plastic seems quite pricey. Once you install it, you probably won't be touching it very often since it has no flow settings and flow pattern and no massage functions. So if you don't mind paying $50 for a piece of blown plastic, you probably don't care. Make sure you agree before ordering.
