Waste of money!: Door and stair gate

***UPDATE 12/30: My 1 year old brought me one of the bars. He literally took out the bolt and brought it to me. I am angry. *** This is one of my worst purchases on Amazon. I have 4 children's goals from Regalo, I think their products are the best, this is an exception. I bought this gate for my large (73 inch) opening into my living room. First, the gates were packed so tightly that it took three of us to straddle them. We either broke off a small piece while straightening or it happened that way, but I figured it wouldn't affect functionality so we continued. Second, the gate is designed to flex on its hinges to accommodate an opening less than 74 inches. This is an awesome idea BUT when you have a 74" hole you can't keep it straight! My 1 year old is holding it and banging it back and forth and my drywall is literally collapsing from the pressure (see photo). You would think a Regalo would come with a clip or foil to hold it in place!?! Third, not only is it not a "one-handed open" as they claim, it's nearly impossible to open. I have to put my 1 year old over the net and FIGHT the clip with both hands. The button must be held in place somehow when you pull it out and must not pinch your fingers. FYI, I got my fingers pinched at least 8 times in the 5 days it was installed and it hurt. Fourth, it is impossible to CLOSE the gate. There is no way of knowing if the gates are properly closed and my one year old rolled through them multiple times. The other Regalo gate has a pop up part that you can see if it's out of place, not this piece of junk. This gate should be level and you should force/push the bar back into place. YOU MUST MAKE SURE THE BUTTON IS BACK. If the button isn't pressed, the gate will swing back open, freeing your child from any danger you're trying to fend off. The only thing I like about this gate is that you can rotate the piece up or down to change whether the gate swings in one direction or both. nothing else to like. If this thing weren't terribly bolted to my poor crumbling wall, it would go right back where it came from.
