I bought these a few months ago partly because they're pretty expensive thinking they're the best for the job or they're going back to Revain. I didn't have to worry. I didn't think I'd need them for carbides, but I need a metric set because that's what I mostly work with. And when I realized that they are measured in millimeters and a half millimeters, I was impressed. This makes them better suited for English size screws, tap holes, through holes, etc. What I didn't expect is that they work with very hard steel. I first tried a couple of specialized metal cutting bits I had a while back, but they didn't cut stainless steel at all. So I tried them as a last resort, going through 2.5mm stainless steel pads in 5-6 seconds each. Therefore, the cobalt content, the stepped tip and the 135° cutting angle are of great importance. They do their job.
