Review on ⚡️ Ampeak 2000W Power Inverter: Convert DC 12V to 110V AC, 3 AC Outlets & 2.1A USB - Car Inverter for Efficient Power Supply by Luckie Davidson

I didn't buy this inverter because of its quality, it's all plastic and very light, I bought it because I wanted to open it and modify it immediately for my specific application. The case is made of plastic, apart from the bottom cover, the device is quite small and weighs much less than you might think. Modifying the internals to accept a higher input voltage range is easy. This device is constructed with single-sided and some double-sided circuits, it has few integrated circuits. The system consists of 3 almost independent circuits. The display board contains an STM8S003K3 microcontroller that calculates power and measures voltages for display on LEDs and controls the remote input and power switch and turns on the USB 5V buck circuit. The low side control board can only be turned on or off, it turns on when the display board supplies power to it, which is a simple switch of the input voltage to the device. The low-side control board decides whether the device can work or not and beeps when the input voltage is too low or too high. Finally, the high side control board produces an output voltage of 120VAC, it has limited feedback to the microcontroller, there is optical isolation for output voltage and possibly current (two isolators). it was not necessary for my task. This device has a temperature sensor and claims to be short circuit protected. I have not tested the short circuit protection as I have previously had to replace high power FETs in other devices that also claimed to be short circuit protected. 4 stars because it didn't come with a remote control and (before I changed it) discovered that the LUP and OUP error codes were swapped during programming. Max input voltage before modification was 15.4 x VDC at 25C for my device. I would expect many tens of mV variations in other units. At 15.50v it definitely had trouble starting.
