This is a great dog bed! My 10 month old puppy loves to sit up high. He was sitting on top of his crate to look outside until he got too big and kept falling off. He likes to rest his head on the edge but because he was lower then the sides I added his original dog bed to sit inside and he loves it! I also purchased steps to go with it and he uses them to get in and out. He can jump to get in and out but I thought it was best to teach him now so he is comfortable using them when he is older. I had an older dog that got to the point at the end of her life where she could not jump and I could not get her to use steps to get onto my bed. I recommend getting the steps to go with it. I only have one issue with it and that is the bed on the bottom. The legs do not sit flat so the bed area is bumpy. I use that area for toy storage.
