A hub is required in addition to the application on the user's mobile device in order to achieve complete integration into the smart home system.
I would want to add to the review that I purchased the gateway from this location. Now that everything has been fixed, it operates normally; the temperature sensor is affixed to the wall near the entrance to the room, and it triggers an alert whenever the humidity falls below a certain threshold. Compatible with a programmable heater. It was much easier to go asleep and stay asleep.

Pros

High capacity for holding water, very silent operation.

Cons

The scripts do not function when run via the Mi Home app. Without a gateway, nothing I tried to set up, including a smart heater as well as temperature and humidity sensors, worked.
