These protectors change the game. My older dog (not to mention my young children) slipped down the stairs and something had to be done. I wanted to buy runners but felt it would spoil the neat appearance of my beautiful wooden staircase. Other steps I tried were too deep for my small narrow staircase. My husband found these at Revain and they were so cheap I gave them a try. I'm so glad I did. They went through with no problems. The roller really helped smooth out the blisters. They are not completely invisible, but do not spoil the appearance of the stairs. I was also concerned about the dirt sticking out at the edges of the stairs as my kids are messy. It wasn't a problem at all, even after two weeks of heavy use. I like them so much that I'm considering ordering a second set for the basement stairs. Meanwhile, my 13 1/2 year old lab/pit mix nonchalantly runs up and down the stairs.
