**The ONLY** Bluetooth 5.0 desktop solution in early 2021

I have no idea what's going on with Bluetooth and Linux, but there seem to be *NO* simple desktop 5.0 solutions. If you have a laptop with built in BT 5.0 or an M.2 card then you are probably supported (all bluez and kernel support people say they support BT 5.0), you are probably lucky and can get BT 5.0 . But good luck trying to find non-genuine hardware for it if you have a desktop computer. Go to Reddit and ask who is using BT5.0. There are no dice. Buy SEVERAL PCI cards labeled AX210 and BT 5.2 chipsets. You'll probably notice that even with kernel 5.12, lsusb NEVER shows the BT device (I'm in arch/manjaro). Head to the store to get a Bluetooth 5.2 dongle (luckily they don't make them). Go to the store to get a 5.0 key. Good luck finding ANY Linux support. It's kinda crazy how bad the hardware support is now, 1+ year later in BT5. This button will solve the sound problems for you. I can't speak for all other features. But I have used it successfully with my Jabra Evovle2 85 and as others have said the range is KILLER. This device acts as a USB socket and uses its own internal BT stack, so if you don't use BT on Linux with this device, it will show up as a different sound card. I suspect I'm missing something with this workaround, but I'm fed up with trying to get BT5.0 to work with Bluez. So I just have to contend with the lack of built-in support, maybe some missing features, and one more extra cable (to get the key in a good place). But these "audio-only" USB 5.0 solutions may be your only solution for getting extended-range 5.0 solutions on Linux for a long time until the hardware manufacturers come together.
