Suitable for using Sony XM4 for Linux conferencing

My use case is pretty specific: I have a pair of Sony XM4 Bluetooth headphones that I want to use for Linux conferencing. Unfortunately, support for Bluetooth headsets with microphones on Linux leaves a lot to be desired, you only get poor quality HSP/HFP support. There doesn't seem to be a timeline for projects from PulseAudio, Bluez, etc. to address this issue. With this device I can get the SBC codec to work with the Sony XM4 (which doesn't support aptX if you're using non-Sony headphones)…

Very good range increase but confusing instructions

I needed to find a way to use my BT headphones with my desktop PC so I ordered them at the same time. I figured out the sound very quickly - I immediately connected to the Iteknic IK-BH007, but connecting the microphone eluded me during the day. There's a switch on the DG60 labeled Talk/Music, but oddly the instructions only say that you have to double-tap the knob to switch between the two. It might not be right, but it looks like the physical switch doesn't matter and the only way to switch…

That thing has a reach!

Tl;Dr: This is a great long range transceiver for Linux machines and other systems that have trouble with BT audio. I have a Linux desktop running Ubuntu 20.04 LTS. USB audio, 3.5mm audio, HDMI, and DP audio all work fine, but I've never gotten Bluetooth audio to work in my life. It turns out that some Bluetooth chipset vendors (like Broadcom) don't provide full drivers and firmware for Linux, so some things don't work either (or in my case don't work at all). The embarrassing factor is that I…

Not as easy as PnP for MS Teams

Windows 10: While our W10 laptop itself didn't need a driver update or general setup, when using it with Teams we had to navigate to the meeting settings (select profile picture in file) . Top right corner "Settings", "Devices" and "Speakers" select Avantree DG60 Analog Stereo) and select it, otherwise Teams will continue to use the previously used device. The sound quality is good. The increase in range is the reason for our purchase. Compared to the laptop's built-in Bluetooth, the DG60 gives

Works very well. as described!

I have an old HP computer without built-in Bluetooth. I've been looking into truly wireless headphones lately, so I wanted to be able to use my various headphones with an old but powerful computer. I first bought a cheap generic Avantree bluetooth adapter. One that costs about $8 or so. I suppose this works fine for bluetooth but absolutely TERRIBLE for the sound and my headphones. I thought THAT Avantree DG60 seemed a little pricey, but since it said it was MADE for audio I decided to give it…

Does not support apxt HD audio as stated on product packaging.

This USB interface only supports 16-bit audio. I have several USB devices that solve this problem with vendor AISO drivers or similar software. This solution has been around for many years and is expected for PC-based USB sound cards. If you can't support 48kHz sample rate and 24-bit depth from your source PC, then (according to the Avantree website) you can't claim aptX HD compatibility. Period!. What happens between the dongle and the headphones, or in my case FIIO BTR5, doesn't matter. It…

DO NOT buy, not reliable, not as promised.

Be careful, most of these negative reviews are correct. I took it with a grain of salt and bought one of these DG60's which was a mistake. (For TL;DR, scroll down.) Pros: Sound quality via APTX HD is incredible and there are no lip-sync issues due to latency (used Sony XM3s). Cons: Volume increases automatically for no reason. You simply CANNOT enjoy video games or music while trying to chat on something like Discord. This will force your Bluetooth device to go into "Call" mode, making all…

**The ONLY** Bluetooth 5.0 desktop solution in early 2021

I have no idea what's going on with Bluetooth and Linux, but there seem to be *NO* simple desktop 5.0 solutions. If you have a laptop with built in BT 5.0 or an M.2 card then you are probably supported (all bluez and kernel support people say they support BT 5.0), you are probably lucky and can get BT 5.0 . But good luck trying to find non-genuine hardware for it if you have a desktop computer. Go to Reddit and ask who is using BT5.0. There are no dice. Buy SEVERAL PCI cards labeled AX210 and…
