A red style dining room was recently put together and the shakers should be red but still look modern and intuitive. Some people have trouble unscrewing the shroud when matching the holes, but if you tighten the shroud snugly first (hold the SIDES, not the TOP), matching the holes isn't a problem. You can also adjust them clockwise so you don't have to worry about loosening two pieces. However, I digress. They look great and the size is large enough to fit comfortably in your hand without being too bulky. The adjustable holes fit both spices and salt and pepper, which is an interesting but welcome feature. Maybe that's why I'll buy more of them. While it's too early to speak about their durability, they seem to be quite durable and I would highly recommend them based on past usage, they've worked surprisingly well.
