Beautiful, warm, durable and expensive!

I love this french press! After about 8 broken glass carafes with our Bodum we finally bought this beautiful one. I should have bought this before! We use this interchangeably for loose tea and coffee and works great for both. Pros: Beautiful, simple, elegant, classy and classic. Glass doesn't break. It is very durable - has withstood 3 months of heavy use so far and I expect to use this item for years to come! Very easy to clean - the large open top allows me to pull out old grounds and tea with my hand. My hand also easily reaches to the sponge. It doesn't leave coffee or tea stains and is easy to clean with hot water and a little soap. The lack of a strainer opening at the top also makes the top cleaner and more hygienic. The double wall construction keeps my drinks hot much longer than glass. The price is no more expensive than a glass french press! Cons: There are really only two. The first is obvious - the liquid level inside is not visible. Secondly, you cannot unscrew the screens at the bottom of the flask. On my old press, the filters unscrewed easily, making it easier to clean the tea leaves. They are brewed together and as I often use this for tea I was very disappointed that I couldn't separate the filters. This makes it difficult to clean the tea leaves from the strainer. Overall, despite the two negatives, I am very happy with this purchase and I highly recommend this item!
