Nice ride but needs some work

Lots of reviews so I'll be brief. Bought a Studio II 6GB to back up a 2009 Mac with OS 10.8. I had a 1TB hard drive that failed recently (thanks Apple for notifying me of the recall, but about 2 months late for my particular machine). All lost, but fantastic technology restored it all (for a small fee, of course). I NEVER want to go through that again. I upgraded the hard drive to 2TB. I bought it to work as a RAID 1 array. It halves the hard drive capacity, but I'll have two copies of my hard drive in case of the next disaster (except for fire, plague, and all sorts of zombie apocalypses, of course). . Most of the issues described in these reviews were Mac related, and the problem was that the bundled software had not been updated to OS 10.8. I contacted WD support and updated my device drivers which helped me halfway through. The drive came with backup software, but it doesn't work with OS 10.8 (it didn't matter as I was planning on using the Time Capsule anyway). I'm stuck because I couldn't set up the drive for a RAID 1 array. A quick email to WD support resulted in a download link that I couldn't find on the website and for some reason Revain lets me don't post here. A link from WD Support took me to the Drive Manager for Studio II for Mac. This was compatible with OS 10.8. Loaded Disk Manager and was able to set up a RAID 1 array, then switched to Time Capsule and I'm fine now. I've been banging my head on the keyboard for a few hours, but if you follow my instructions above, you should be able to update everything to work with OS 10.8 in about 20 minutes. Only gave 4 stars as I'm waiting for the firewire issue that others have experienced, but so far so good. I'll update after a few months under my belt.
