Bought a pair of these to replace some of the old Temptrol valves we had around the house. I liked the idea of being able to isolate the water from the cartridge straight to the valve instead of shutting off the water in your house. They are easy to use and easy to access, love this feature. The finish on this valve is excellent. The threads were perfect and the finish on the inside of all solder joints as well as the cartridge insertion points were polished to perfection, making tube soldering and cartridge installation a breeze. There were no burrs or anything on the outside of the valve either, I was very impressed with how smooth and clean everything was. Valve 5 stars. I'm only taking off a star because of the plastic mount. The first valve I received was cracked and broken in multiple places rendering it unusable. The box it came in was intact but there was no bubble wrap or anything inside to protect this part from damage in transit. It's not a problem, but compared to what this mount is attached to, it lags far behind. A little more attention to detail on the mount and this is the perfect product! I've read that some people are complaining/having issues with the cartridges in these valves and I honestly think it's either a water quality issue or it's just not installed properly. You must be careful with o-ring parts and make sure they are properly lubricated before installation. We had no problems. Note. One big difference I noticed compared to my early 90's Temptrol valves was the time you have hot water. I'm assuming it's because of the burn protection, but if someone could clarify that that would be great. You can adjust the cartridge to increase or decrease the total amount of hot water you can mix. Even though it's set to the upper limit, it's still slightly different from the valves I've replaced. Just some information I thought I'd put in there that I found interesting. All in all a great replacement and works perfectly!
