Review on Bargman 34-78-517 Outdoor Porch Light #78 - Transparent with White Base by Brandon Barrett

Good light but limitations

I needed light in the electrical closet of a converted bus/RV I'm staying in as I was upgrading by installing an additional solar power system. I wanted to be able to see all the components clearly and needed an extra light source for the initial setup and also later when I wanted to check things. This light fits. I replaced the incandescent bulb that came with the kit with a brightech LED bulb available from Revain. Note that this light has an open metal back with a hot wire attached. If you install this tool on a metal frame of a car with chassis ground, it will cause a short circuit and blow the fuse. This was my experience as the first place I chose to install it was on the ceiling of my bus which is metal. Luckily I connected it through the fuse panel and it was easy to change the fuse. I placed the lamp against a wood paneled wall and it works great there. I've been using the light for a few weeks now and I'm very happy with it. The switch is convenient to mount on the lamp. The lens cap, thanks to its slotted design, allows a lot of light to be emitted by diffusing it. I assume it will last for years as there is little to explode in these fires. Light bulbs are the main component that needs to be replaced and a good quality LED light bulb should last for many years.
